Felix van de Gein
Felix also takes photos for Guðrun & Guðrun, a clothing company owned by two Faroese women, exemplifying the Faroe Islands hand-made, wool-sweater tradition. Their design process is closely linked to the isolation of the place, “It’s good to go to Europe for input and inspiration, but it’s crucial to come back home to the silence.” Their work is beautiful, sustainable (the Faroese yarn and lambskins are waste products, so is the fish leather used for their accessories) and organic. Their website intro alone is worth a visit (they have several so keep refreshing). I wasn’t even looking for a New Year’s Eve dress, but I found it.
